SHORT BIO
MADS LJUNGDAHL  SOUND AND VISUAL ARTIST

Mads Ljungdahl works with photography, drawing, graphics, soundscapes film and theater. His visual work has several branches but is often characterized by a strong graphic presence and apparent narrative, with emphasis on psychological and political matters - all merged with shifting amounts of atmospheric, shrouded and sensuous elements.

Part of ML's work-process is to develop parallel lines of contrasting projects (both in technique and approach) as they, for him, balance and nourish each-other. Some projects are relatively small, others extensive and ambitious - developed 'in the background' over many years, using several media in combination. Lately sound-work is given extra attention.

Mads Ljungdahl has an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. His work has been exhibited and screened in many countries. He is represented in: Museet for Fotokunst, Odense, Denmark, FotoFest and Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, USA, Faulconer Gallery, Grinell, USA. National Library, London, UK, Danish National Art Library and private collections.

Work series include: Drones // The Decorated Children // The Cat, The Tree, The Bird, The Fire // Transformer // What Are We Here For // Dream Team // Refrain // Filter // Flyover Territory // All Sorts // Seven Little Secrets // Health for all by the year 2000
